WD-40 Rolls Out AI Systems Across Global Operations
WD-40 is deploying artificial intelligence across its business to improve efficiency and decision-making, CEO Steven Brass said during an April 9 earnings call. The household chemicals company is using AI-enabled platforms including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, and Atlas to rethink how it operates.
Dynamics 365, an enterprise resource planning system, is already running in the United States, Latin America, Asia distributor markets, and parts of Canada-regions that represent roughly half of WD-40's global revenue. The company is treating the initiative as more than a productivity tool for individual workers; instead, it's redesigning core business processes.
Atlas, a supply chain planning platform from John Galt Solutions, has not yet rolled out globally. WD-40 identified these AI-enhanced systems as essential to its strategy in a 2025 SEC filing, which also flagged a need for workers skilled in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
What This Means for Operations Teams
The deployment signals a shift in how industrial manufacturers approach process improvement. Rather than layering AI onto existing workflows, WD-40 is rebuilding those workflows from the ground up.
For operations professionals, this approach matters. It means understanding how to map current processes before implementing new tools, and knowing which systems can talk to each other-a critical step WD-40 appears to be taking with its phased rollout.
