Webidoo Raises $25 Million to Build AI Operating Layer for SMBs
Webidoo closed a $25 million funding round led by IXC3, a fund within Azimut Group, to expand its AI platform for small and medium-sized businesses. The company plans to use the capital for U.S. expansion, acquisitions of SaaS companies and marketing agencies, and development of what it calls an "AI Operating Layer" for SMBs.
The operating layer connects fragmented software tools and automates workflows across marketing, sales, and business operations. Most small businesses run roughly 20 disconnected tools, according to CEO Giovanni Farese. Webidoo's approach integrates these systems rather than adding another tool to the stack.
How Webidoo Plans to Deploy the Funding
Webidoo will pursue targeted acquisitions of customer-facing SaaS businesses and marketing firms. The company intends to enhance these acquired operations by integrating them with its proprietary platforms: Jooice, Groow, and Welpy.
This strategy combines technology infrastructure with existing customer relationships and service networks, allowing broader deployment of automation and performance optimization tools across SMB environments.
Current Performance and Operations
Webidoo reported more than $18 million in revenue and over $3 million in EBITDA during 2025. The company operates globally with offices in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, with Chicago serving as its North American hub for business development, research, and account management.
Webidoo's investor base now includes Azimut Group, 8a+ (part of Banca Generali), and TIM Ventures.
The Problem Webidoo Targets
Small businesses typically lack access to the technology infrastructure that larger enterprises use to automate operations. Building internal AI systems or managing complex software stacks independently is costly and time-consuming for SMBs.
Webidoo's approach removes this barrier. The company said its goal is to make AI easier to adopt, easier to use, and more directly tied to measurable business outcomes. Chief Product Officer Ricky Gordon said the company focuses on helping SMBs "act" rather than adding complexity.
