Whistling Woods International (WWI) has partnered with AI video platform invideo to open a new AI Lab at its Filmcity campus in Mumbai. The June 12, 2026, initiative integrates AI filmmaking tools directly into the curriculum, signaling a shift in how creative arts students will learn to build narratives.
Lab tools and curriculum
The partnership introduces invideo's AI filmmaking agent, Agent One, to WWI students. This addition provides hands-on access to Generative Video technologies within an academic setting. Students will use these systems to prototype ideas and refine their content creation workflows alongside traditional filmmaking methods.
Leadership perspective
Institute leadership emphasized that these tools supplement rather than replace human artistic vision. Subhash Ghai, founder and chairman of Whistling Woods International, said, "At Whistling Woods International, we have always believed that technology serves creativity, not the other way around. As the world evolves, it is important that our students learn to work with emerging technologies while continuing to strengthen the imagination, emotion, and originality that lie at the heart of great creative work."
Sanket Shah, founder and CEO of invideo AI, focused on the practical application of these systems. "In the long journey of technological innovations that have enabled great filmmaking to thrive, AI is the current sharp new tool in the arsenal of filmmakers," Shah said.
Why this matters for creatives
Working professionals in creative fields face growing pressure to incorporate automated tools into production pipelines. This academic partnership signals that foundational creative education now demands fluency in AI for Creatives. Professionals should expect new hires to arrive with practical experience in AI-assisted editing, requiring teams to define clear workflows that separate automated drafting from final human artistic direction.
