Operations Electronics Giant to Build AI Supercomputer Factories in Texas
A major global electronics manufacturer is set to establish two factories dedicated to AI supercomputing in North Texas. Wistron, a Taiwanese contract manufacturer with origins linked to Acer, plans to invest over $760 million in these facilities. This move supports a larger initiative by Nvidia, a leading AI chip producer, to bring $500 billion worth of AI supercomputer manufacturing to the U.S. over the next several years.
Facility Details and Investment
The two factories will be located at the AllianceTexas business park near Fort Worth. Wistron intends to invest $580 million to upgrade a nearly 325,000-square-foot building that will serve as the primary site. Additionally, more than $181 million will be spent on renovating a second, larger facility. Both plants are scheduled to be operational by early 2026 and are expected to create over 800 jobs combined.
