AI agent for ai consultants
AI Opportunity Assessment Agent
A grounded shortlist of AI opportunities for the client, ranked by value and feasibility
What it does
Clients ask consultants where AI could help, and answers driven by hype lead to failed projects. This agent interviews the client about their main processes, volumes, pain points and current tools. After each round it checks whether it knows enough to score each process. If answers are vague, it asks follow-up questions first. It then scores each process for AI fit: is it repetitive, rule-based or language-heavy, is the data available, is the value clear. It checks each candidate against what AI can reliably do today, so it does not promise the impossible. It drafts a ranked shortlist with effort, value and the data each needs. You approve the shortlist shown to the client. Edge case: a process the client is excited about but has no usable data is ranked low with the reason given, not boosted to please them.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Engagement discovery begins
- Interview the client on processes, volumes and pain points
- Are process, volume, value and data clear for each candidate? If not: ask follow-up questions before scoring. Back to step 2.
- Score each process for AI fit and data readiness
- Check each candidate against what AI can reliably do today
- Is every high-ranked candidate feasible with the client's data?If not: lower its rank and record the reason. Back to step 4.
- Draft the ranked shortlist with effort and value estimates
- Consultant approves the shortlist for the clientThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Opportunity shortlist delivered
How it decides
It scores each process on suitability, data readiness and value, and will not rank an opportunity as ready without usable data.
- Rank by value times feasibility
- Lower-rank opportunities with no usable data
- Exclude tasks AI cannot do reliably
