AI agent for film composers

Cue Sheet Filing Agent

A complete cue sheet that passes the society's format and matches the agreements

Cue Sheet Filing Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Cue sheets are filed late or with missing data, so royalties are delayed or lost. After final delivery, this agent builds the cue sheet from the cue list and the final cut timings. It checks titles, writers, publishers and splits against the signed agreements and the society's registered names. It lists every gap, such as a missing writer ID or a split that does not total 100%, and drafts a request to whoever has the missing fact. When an answer arrives, it checks the sheet again. It repeats until all rows pass the society's format check. The composer approves before it is filed with the society. Edge case: a cue that was dropped from the final cut is removed from the sheet, but the cue list keeps a note.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

A row passes when timings, titles, writer names and IDs and splits match the agreements and total 100%.

  • Require splits to total 100% for every cue
  • Remove cues not in the final cut and note them
  • Match writer names to the society's registry
  • Wait for missing IDs rather than guess

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Society and its format
  • Which agreements to use
  • Who to ask for missing data
  • How soon after delivery to start (default 3 days)

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Filing the cue sheet
  • Sending data requests to publishers

Hard limits

  • Never guesses splits or IDs
  • Never files without approval

It stops when

  • Done: sheet filed and confirmed
  • Stop: agreements are missing

An example run

What happensA series episode had 31 cues. Two had missing writer IDs, and one split totaled 95%. The agent drafted requests, the publisher replied the next day, and the split was fixed in the agreement. The second check showed cue 12 ran 2:10 in the final cut against 2:40 in the list, so it updated the time. The format check passed and the composer approved filing.
