AI agent for film composers
Session Archive and Recall Agent
A complete archive that can be reopened later and a safe go-ahead to delete working copies
What it does
Old sessions often cannot be reopened later because plugins, media or setup notes are missing. At project close, this agent collects the session files, media, plugin and version lists and settings notes. It copies them to the archive folder and builds a manifest of every referenced file. Then it test-checks the archive by comparing the manifest against what is actually stored and confirming every file is present and readable. Any gap is fixed, for example by finding a missing sample or copying a plugin preset, and the check runs again. It writes a short recall note about the setup, tempo, key and routing. The owner approves deletion of the working copies. Edge case: an unavailable plugin is listed with its version and a suggested replacement.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Project marked closed
- Collect session files, media and plugin versions
- Build a manifest of every referenced file
- Copy everything to the archive and write checksums
- Verify the archive against the manifest
- Is every manifest file present, readable and matching its checksum? If not: find or recopy the missing file, then verify again. Back to step 3.
- Write a recall note: tempo, key, routing, plugins and replacements
- Does a test open of the session file list resolve all media? If not: fix paths and verify again. Back to step 3.
- Owner approves deleting the working copiesThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Archive and recall note filed
How it decides
An archive is complete when every file named in the manifest is present, readable and the checksum matches the source.
- Treat a checksum mismatch as missing
- List unavailable plugins with version and replacement
- Never offer deletion before verification passes twice
- Keep the original until the owner approves
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Archive location and structure
- What goes in the recall note
- Checksum method
- How long to keep working copies
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Deleting working copies
- Moving the archive to long-term storage
Hard limits
- Never deletes anything itself
- Never alters session files in the archive
It stops when
- Done: archive verified and the owner decided on deletion
- Stop: media cannot be found after two attempts
