What it does

Containers and trailers sit past free time and the charge only appears on the invoice. Every day this agent tracks each container and trailer's free time against arrival and pickup status. It flags those near the limit and proposes the fix, such as booking pickup, asking the carrier for an extension, or arranging a return. After each action, it rechecks the status to see if the clock has stopped. If a charge still occurs, it logs the cause so the pattern can be fixed. The coordinator approves bookings and any dispute. Edge case: the port is closed for a holiday, so the agent asks for a free time extension instead of a pickup booking.

How it decides

A unit is at risk when remaining free time is below the time needed to pick up and return it. The proposed fix is the one that stops the clock soonest at the lowest cost.
