AI agent for auto mechanics
Diagnostic Code to Repair Plan Agent
Find the real cause of a fault code with the fewest tests and confirm the fix
What it does
A check engine code rarely names the failed part, and guessing means replacing parts the customer pays for without fixing the car. When a vehicle checks in with a code, this agent reads the codes, freeze frame data, vehicle details and the customer's complaint. It looks up service bulletins and known fixes for that model before any testing. It groups several codes that may share one wiring cause. It builds an ordered test plan, starting with cheap checks like connectors and fuses and the causes that most often fix that code. As the mechanic enters each result, it reranks the causes and suggests the next test. The mechanic chooses every repair and the customer approves the cost. After the repair it asks for a road test and monitor readout. If the code returns, it marks that cause ruled out and moves to the next one.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides
It ranks causes by how often they fix that code on that model and how cheap the test is, and reranks after every result.
