AI agent for psychiatrists
Medication Taper Plan Tracker Agent
Move through each taper step safely with symptoms checked before every change.
What it does
Tapering a psychiatric medicine is slow and needs check-ins at each step, but patients get lost between visits. This agent takes the approved taper plan and sets each step date, check-in call and symptom questionnaire. At every step it sends the questionnaire and reads the reply, comparing it with the baseline and the previous step. If symptoms are stable, it prepares the next step for the psychiatrist to confirm. If a patient reports withdrawal-type symptoms or worsening of the original condition, it proposes holding the step, drafts an earlier visit invitation and alerts the psychiatrist the same day. The psychiatrist approves every step, hold and message. Edge case: the patient misses a questionnaire, so the agent does not advance the step.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Taper step date arrives
- Send the symptom questionnaire
- Read the reply and compare with baseline and last step
- Is the reply received and stable? If not: if missing, send a reminder and hold the step; if worse, alert the psychiatrist and propose a hold. Back to step 2.
- Draft the next step for confirmation
- Psychiatrist approves the step or a holdThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Send the instructions and book an earlier visit if held
- Schedule the next check-in
- Did the patient confirm the new step?If not: send a reminder and ask staff to call. Back to step 7.
- Taper log updated
How it decides
A step advances only when the latest questionnaire is stable and received. Worse scores or new symptoms hold the step.
- Hold the step if the questionnaire is missing
- Hold and alert the psychiatrist for withdrawal-type symptoms
- Alert the same day for any safety concern
- Book a visit within 7 days after a hold
