Policy Coverage Check Agent

A clear coverage note with cited clauses before adjustment

Policy Coverage Check Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Before a claim can be settled, someone must confirm the policy was active, the loss is covered, limits and deductibles apply, and no exclusion blocks it, and that means reading long policy wording. Once the file is complete, this agent reads the policy, endorsements and claim facts. It checks the policy was in force on the date of loss and applies endorsements only from their effective date. It matches the loss to coverage clauses and exclusions and drafts a coverage note that cites the clauses word for word. It then checks that every condition in those clauses is matched to a confirmed fact, such as the date of loss or how a vehicle was used. If facts are missing, it lists questions and waits for answers. The adjuster makes the coverage decision. Edge case: an endorsement added mid-term applies only from its date.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensA water damage claim from November 18 touched a gradual leakage exclusion. The fact check failed: the note depended on whether the leak was sudden, which nobody had confirmed. The agent listed the question for the claimant. The plumber's report, received November 25, confirmed a burst pipe. The agent updated the note, and the adjuster confirmed cover with the $500 deductible.
