Strategic Partner Performance Review Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Strategic partners such as resellers, suppliers or alliances are reviewed once a year in a meeting where each side shares slides. Weak partners are noticed late. This agent reads sales, service and quality data for each partner every quarter and compares it with the agreement targets. It flags partners below target, requests explanations from the account owner, and rechecks their replies against the data. It drafts a review pack with a scorecard and suggested actions, from coaching to a formal notice. The executive approves any notice. Edge case: a partner missing its target because of a market-wide drop is compared with the market, not only the target.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

Scores partners against agreement targets, adjusts for market conditions, and flags a partner after two quarters below target.

  • Two quarters below target puts a partner on watch
  • Market-wide drops are adjusted before scoring
  • An explanation needs data to be accepted
  • Formal notices are never drafted without the agreement clause

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Review cadence (default quarterly)
  • Quarters below target before a flag (default 2)
  • Market adjustment source
  • Metrics in the scorecard
  • Who owns each partner

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Any notice or warning to a partner
  • Changes to targets
  • Termination or renewal decisions

Hard limits

  • Never contact a partner
  • Never draft a notice without the contract clause

It stops when

  • Done: actions agreed and tracked
  • Stop: partner ends the relationship
  • Stop: dispute goes to legal

An example run

What happensA reseller sold 640,000 against a 800,000 target. The market fell 12%, so the adjusted gap is 8%. The check passes, and the partner stays on watch rather than flagged. A second partner is 25% below target with no market effect. The owner says a key hire left, but data shows quality scores fell too. The agent asks for a plan and the executive approves a coaching visit.
