AI agent for customer service representatives

Suspicious Claim Referral Agent

Refer real fraud risks with evidence while protecting honest customers

Suspicious Claim Referral Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Fraud costs insurers money, but wrongly treating an honest customer as a suspect damages trust. As claims are reported, this agent checks for known warning signs: a policy bought days before the loss, repeated claims, inconsistent stories across calls, edited photos or documents that do not match. It checks each sign against the facts on file, since many have innocent explanations, like replacing an old policy after a move. Signs that are explained are dropped. Only claims with at least two confirmed signs are drafted as referrals to the special investigations unit, with the evidence attached. The representative and a supervisor approve every referral. The customer's service continues normally while any review runs. Edge case: a new policy right after buying a new car is not treated as suspicious.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

It needs two or more confirmed warning signs before drafting a referral.

  • Two confirmed signs needed
  • Never tell the customer about a referral

Hard limits

  • Never denies or delays claims itself
  • Never accuses customers

It stops when

An example run

What happensA theft claim on March 12 came 6 days after the policy started. The agent found the customer had moved and replaced an older policy, so that sign was dropped and the check failed. A second claim had photo metadata dated a year before the loss and a similar prior claim. Both signs held, so it drafted a referral, and the supervisor approved it.
