by bakyang2

Lets your AI read Korean crypto prices, Kimchi Premium, and Korean market news in English.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “What is the Kimchi Premium right now?”, the KR Crypto Intelligence MCP server reaches Upbit, Bithumb and Korean news, and you get back kimchi Premium and market summary.

This is a helper that connects your AI to Korean crypto market data. It pulls prices from Upbit and Bithumb, tracks the Kimchi Premium, and translates Korean crypto and tech news into English. It is handy if you follow Korean markets or want a quick read on what is happening there.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Korean crypto market data, so it can look up prices, premiums, and news for you. You just ask in plain words, and the helper fetches the answer.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about Korean crypto, like the current Kimchi Premium or what Korean news says about Samsung. Your AI sends that request to this helper, which talks to Korean exchanges like Upbit and Bithumb, plus news sources. The helper brings back prices, premium numbers, alerts, and short English summaries. Your AI then shows you the answer in the chat, in normal language.

What you can do with it

  • Check the Kimchi Premium for Bitcoin and 180+ other tokens
  • See the USDT and USDC premium on Korean exchanges
  • Compare global prices with Korean exchange prices
  • Get Korean crypto and semiconductor news translated to English
  • Spot new listings, delistings, and warning flags on Korean exchanges
  • Catch quick price surges and volume spikes in the last minute
  • Read an AI summary of overall Korean market sentiment

Try asking your AI

  • “What is the Kimchi Premium right now?”
  • “Show me the top movers on Korean exchanges in the last hour.”
  • “Any new listings or warnings on Upbit or Bithumb today?”
  • “Summarize the latest Korean semiconductor news in English.”

What it gives back to you

You get back numbers, short lists, and plain English summaries. For example, the Kimchi Premium comes back as a percentage, and news endpoints come back as translated headlines with a short sentiment note. Some endpoints also include an AI-written paragraph explaining what the data means. Everything shows up in your chat like a normal reply.

Before you start

What you need

  • An MCP-compatible AI app, like Claude Desktop or Cursor
  • A crypto wallet with a small amount of USDC or RLUSD (each request costs a few cents)

Good to know

Each request costs a small amount of real crypto from your wallet, so costs add up if you ask a lot of questions.
