What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. Here, it connects your AI to Finnhub, a market data service, so the AI can look up prices, news, and earnings dates for you. You just ask in plain English, and the helper does the fetching.

What it gives back to you

You get a short, readable answer in the chat. For a quote, it shows the price, change, and previous close. For a scan, it lists the top movers. For analysis, it gives a score from -100 to +100 with a simple label like 'Lean negative' and a confidence percentage.
