GammaRips MCP server

by DevDizzle

Lets your AI pull options-flow research data: a nightly pool of liquid contracts, outcomes, and exit-rule tools.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Show me tonight's pool of liquid option contracts”, the GammaRips MCP server connects it to GammaRips, and you get back options data in your chat.

GammaRips is a research service that studies options trading data every night. This MCP server connects your AI to that data so you can ask questions about it in plain chat. It is handy for people who already trade options or study them and want an AI to help them look things up.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to GammaRips, a service that ranks optionable US stocks by how easy they are to trade and keeps records of how those contracts behaved. Once connected, your AI can ask GammaRips for that data and bring answers back into your chat.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question about options data, like which contracts are in tonight's pool or how a past contract moved. Your AI sends that request to this helper, which talks to the GammaRips service. GammaRips sends back lists, numbers, and summaries from its nightly scans and its history of past outcomes. Your AI then explains the result to you in the chat. The server only reads data; it does not place trades or pick contracts for you.

What you can do with it

  • See the nightly pool of roughly 40 to 50 liquid option contracts
  • Check fresh liquidity for one contract or a shortlist
  • Look up past outcome labels and how far contracts moved up or down
  • Replay a contract's minute-by-minute or daily price path
  • Score your own exit rule against historical data
  • Read the current market regime (VIX, VIX3M, SPY trend)
  • Fetch methodology playbooks and the daily report

Try asking your AI

  • “Show me tonight's pool of liquid option contracts”
  • “What did the outcomes look like for the contracts in last week's pool?”
  • “Replay the minute-by-minute price path for this contract on its entry day”
  • “What is the current market regime and is the pool fresh today?”

What it gives back to you

You get back lists, tables, and short summaries in your chat. For example, the pool comes back as a set of tickers with their chosen call contract and some context. Outcome queries return labels, aggregates, or excursion numbers, and replay returns a price path you can look at. Nothing is changed on your side; it is all read-only information.

Before you start

Good to know
