Kura is a small wallet app for your Mac that your AI assistant can use. It is not for you to spend from day to day, it is for your AI to ask you to pay for things online, with your password as the final yes. It is handy if you use Claude and want it to handle small internet payments without ever seeing your keys.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. Here, that helper is Kura, a wallet app on your Mac. Once connected, your AI can look up your balance, ask you to approve a payment, or pay for a web resource that asks for money, all through Kura.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "check my wallet" or "pay this site". The AI uses the Kura helper to talk to the Kura app on your Mac. For payments, Kura pops up a small window showing how much and to whom, and waits for your password. If you approve, the payment goes out on Base or Arc, and the result comes back to the AI. If you do not approve within five minutes, it is refused automatically.

What you can do with it

  • Check your wallet status and whether the AI is connected
  • See your USDC balance on Base or Arc
  • Read your recent payment history
  • Ask you to approve a payment to an address
  • Pay for a web link that asks for a small USDC fee (x402)
  • Resubmit a payment that Kura already put on chain
  • Look up an AI agent's on-chain identity

Try asking your AI

  • “What is my USDC balance right now?”
  • “Show me my last five payments.”
  • “Pay 0.50 USDC to 0xabc...123 on Base.”
  • “Fetch this URL and pay the small fee it asks for: https://example.com/article”

What it gives back to you

For balance and history questions, you get plain answers and short lists right in the chat. For payments, you get a note that a request was sent, then a result once you approve or refuse. If a payment is unclear, Kura checks the chain again and tells the AI whether it went through or was returned.

Before you start

What you need

  • An Apple Silicon Mac (macOS 11 or newer)
  • The Kura app installed from Homebrew or the releases page
  • A wallet created inside Kura with a password and your 12-word backup saved
  • Some USDC in the wallet if you want to make real payments

Good to know

This wallet can move real money on Base mainnet, so start with small amounts or switch to the testnet in settings until you are comfortable.
