CryptoGuard MCP server

by gpartin

Lets your AI check any crypto token or trade and give you a plain PROCEED, CAUTION or BLOCK verdict.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Should I buy $500 of solana right now?”, the CryptoGuard MCP server connects it to CryptoGuard, and you get back PROCEED, CAUTION or BLOCK.

CryptoGuard is a risk checker for crypto. You give it a coin name, ticker, or wallet address, and it comes back with one of three simple answers: PROCEED, CAUTION, or BLOCK. It is handy if you or your AI helper ever look at crypto trades and want a second opinion before doing anything.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot go check live crypto prices or scan a token for you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one connects your AI to CryptoGuard, a crypto risk service, so when you ask about a coin or a trade, the AI can look it up and bring back a verdict.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like whether a certain coin looks risky right now. The AI passes your question to this helper. The helper talks to the CryptoGuard service, which pulls live market data and runs a risk check. A few seconds later you get back a short verdict, PROCEED, CAUTION, or BLOCK, plus a risk score and the main reasons behind it.

What you can do with it

  • Check a trade and get a PROCEED, CAUTION or BLOCK verdict
  • Scan any token by name, ticker, or contract address
  • Run a rug pull risk check on a trading pair
  • Search for a token when you only remember part of its name
  • See what-if results for a trade at different amounts
  • Check how many free calls you have left today
  • Ask for a plain health check to see if the service is up

Try asking your AI

  • “Should I buy $500 of solana right now?”
  • “Scan the token pepe and tell me the risk level”
  • “Is this pair a rug pull risk: chain solana, pair 0xabc123”
  • “What if I only put in $100 instead of $1000, does the verdict change?”

What it gives back to you

You get back a short answer in the chat. Usually that is a verdict word, a risk or anomaly score, and a short list of the main reasons. For searches you get a list of matching tokens. For rug checks you get a risk score and a short explanation.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop or Cursor
  • Nothing else to start: the first 5 checks each day are free and need no signup
  • A payment method only if you go past the free daily limit (per-call USDC or a RapidAPI plan)

Good to know

This is a risk opinion, not financial advice, and the free tier only gives you 5 checks a day before it starts charging per call.

Install it with your AI
