EVM Blockchain MCP server

by JamesANZ

Lets your AI read and simulate transactions on Ethereum and other blockchains for you.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to blockchains like Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI plain questions about wallets, transactions, and smart contracts, and it will go and look up the answers for you. It is handy for anyone who works with crypto data and does not want to click around block explorers all day.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot see the blockchain or check a wallet balance. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one gives it a connection to EVM blockchains, so when you ask about a wallet or a transaction, the AI can actually go and fetch that information.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "what is the balance of this wallet?" or "did this transaction go through?". The AI passes your question to this helper. The helper then talks to a blockchain node provider, like Infura or Alchemy, which is a service that reads the blockchain for you. The answer comes back and the AI explains it in the chat. It can also simulate transactions so you can see what would happen before anything real is sent.

What you can do with it

  • Check the balance of any wallet address
  • Look up a transaction and see if it succeeded
  • Get the latest block number on a network
  • Simulate sending ETH or a token before doing it for real
  • Estimate how much gas a transaction would cost
  • Read data from a smart contract
  • Search event logs for a specific contract

Try asking your AI

  • “What is the ETH balance of 0x42ea529282DDE0AA87B42d9E83316eb23FE62c3f?”
  • “Did transaction 0x1234...abcdef succeed, and how much gas did it use?”
  • “Simulate sending 1 ETH from my-wallet to alice.eth and tell me if it would go through”
  • “What is the current block number on Polygon?”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in plain chat text: balances, block numbers, transaction details, gas estimates, and yes or no answers about whether a simulated transaction would succeed. For simulations, it also tells you the reason if something would fail, and roughly what would change. It does not send real transactions unless you explicitly use the send tool with a signed transaction.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js 18 or newer
  • An API key from a node provider like Infura or Alchemy (a kind of password for apps; you can get one for free on their website)
  • The Claude desktop app or Cursor, if you want to use it there

Good to know

The send tool can broadcast a real transaction if you give it a signed one, and simulations are only estimates, so double-check before doing anything real.

Install it with your AI

Add EVM Blockchain MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check EVM Blockchain MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
