Let your AI pay tiny amounts of USDC to use paid tools, settled on Solana in about a second.

agenticpay is a set of tools that lets an AI assistant pay a small amount of money each time it uses a paid tool. The payment happens in USDC, a digital dollar, on a blockchain called Solana. It is made for people who build or run AI tools and want to charge for each use, without setting up accounts or card payments.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something outside the chat. This one connects your AI to a payment system, so when it uses a tool that has a price, it can pay that price automatically. Think of it as giving your AI a tiny wallet and a rulebook for spending from it.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to do something that needs a paid tool, like reversing a string or counting words. The AI sends a request to a server that has a price tag on that tool. The server replies asking for payment, and the AI signs a small USDC payment and sends it back. A helper called a facilitator checks the payment and settles it on Solana, which takes about a second and a half. Then the server runs the tool and sends the result back to your AI, which shows it to you.

What you can do with it

  • Charge a small fee each time an AI uses one of your tools
  • Pay for tools automatically from an AI wallet, without a human clicking buy
  • See a summary of what was paid and how long each call took
  • Run your own payment helper instead of relying on someone else's
  • Test the whole flow for free on Solana's devnet network
  • Wrap a paid web tool so Claude Desktop or Cursor can use it
  • Drop paid tools into common AI frameworks like LangChain or the Vercel AI SDK

Try asking your AI

  • “Reverse the string 'agentpay rocks' and tell me how many words are in 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog'.”
  • “Use the paid search tool to find recent news about Solana and summarize it.”
  • “Pay for the summarize tool and give me a short summary of this article.”
  • “Show me a list of all the paid tools you can use and what each one costs.”

What it gives back to you

You get the result of the tool, like a reversed string or a word count, shown right in the chat. You also get a payment summary that lists each tool call, the price in USDC, and how long it took. If a tool fails, you get the error and no charge. The AI can also tell you the total spent for the session.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js 18 or newer and pnpm to install and run the code
  • A Solana wallet with a little USDC (you can get free devnet USDC from a faucet)
  • An Anthropic API key if you want to run the live Claude agent demo
  • About 0.05 SOL on devnet if you run your own facilitator, to cover network fees

Good to know

This is pre-alpha software that moves real money on a blockchain, so test on devnet first and be careful with real funds.

Install it with your AI

Add agenticpay MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check agenticpay MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
