Bridge Rates MCP server

by kukapay

Ask your AI for live cross-chain bridge rates and the cheapest route to move crypto between blockchains.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “What's the bridge rate from Arbitrum USDC to Optimism DAI?”, the Bridge Rates MCP server connects it to LI.FI, and you get back table of routes in chat.

This is a small helper that lets your AI look up live rates for moving crypto tokens from one blockchain to another. It shows you the available routes, the fees, and which one is cheapest. It is handy if you move tokens between chains and want a quick comparison without opening five websites.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to LI.FI, a service that gathers cross-chain bridge rates. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI about a transfer and it will fetch the numbers for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like what it costs to move USDC from Arbitrum to Optimism. Your AI passes the question to this helper. The helper asks LI.FI, which collects rates from many bridges and exchanges. Then it hands back a neat table of routes with amounts, fees, and provider names. Your AI shows you that table right in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Compare bridge rates for a token pair between two chains
  • See the USD value of what you send and what you receive
  • Check the gas cost for each route
  • Spot which route is tagged as cheapest or recommended
  • List all blockchains supported for bridging
  • List all bridges and exchanges that are supported

Try asking your AI

  • “What's the bridge rate from Arbitrum USDC to Optimism DAI?”
  • “Show me the cheapest route to move 100 USDC from Ethereum to Polygon.”
  • “List all supported chains for bridging.”
  • “Which bridges are available for cross-chain transfers?”

What it gives back to you

You get a Markdown table in the chat. For rates, it shows the amount sent, its USD value, the amount received, the minimum received, the gas cost, the provider, and tags like cheapest or recommended. For chains and bridges, it shows a simple sorted list with names and IDs.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js version 18 or newer installed on your computer
  • npm, which comes with Node.js
  • An MCP-compatible app such as the Claude desktop app
  • The bridge-rates-mcp files downloaded from GitHub

Good to know

The rates are live estimates and can change quickly, and the amounts are given in the smallest token unit, so double check the numbers before you actually send funds.
