Chainlink Feeds MCP server
by kukapay
Lets your AI look up live crypto prices from Chainlink's price feeds on several blockchains.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Chainlink, a service that publishes crypto and token prices on blockchains. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI for a price in plain words and it goes and fetches it for you. It is handy for anyone who follows crypto prices but does not want to open a dozen websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Chainlink's price feeds, which are live price numbers published on blockchains. So when you ask about a price, your AI can go and check the real number instead of guessing.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like what is the latest FIL/ETH price on Ethereum. Your AI passes that question to this helper program. The helper then talks to the Chainlink price feed on that blockchain and reads the current number. It sends the price, the round ID and the time it was updated back to your AI, and your AI tells you in normal words. You can also ask it which chains and which price pairs it knows about.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Ask for the latest price of a pair like BTC/USD on a specific chain
- See which blockchains the server supports
- List all the price feeds it knows about, grouped by chain
- List the price feeds available on one chain, like Base or Celo
- Look up a price for a specific round ID (this one is a placeholder for now)
- Check the time a price was last updated
Try asking your AI
- “What is the latest FIL/ETH price on Ethereum?”
- “Which blockchain networks does this server support?”
- “List all the price feeds available on Base.”
- “What is the current BTC/USD price on Scroll?”
What it gives back to you
You get a short answer in the chat, usually with the price number, how many decimals it has, the round ID and the timestamp. For listing questions, you get a simple list of chain names or feed names. It does not draw charts or save files, it just answers with the numbers and names you asked for.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js version 18 or newer installed on your computer
- An Infura API key (a kind of password for apps; you get one free from the MetaMask Developer Dashboard)
- A copy of this project downloaded from GitHub
- An MCP client like the Claude desktop app to talk to it
Good to know
The prices come from public blockchains and can be delayed or wrong, so do not treat them as financial advice or use them for real trades without checking elsewhere.
