Crypto Funds MCP server
by kukapay
Lets your AI look up crypto investment funds, their teams, focus areas and recent deals.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to a database of cryptocurrency investment funds. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI questions about venture funds, their teams, and what they invest in, and it will fetch the answers for you. It is handy for anyone doing research on crypto funds without wanting to click through websites by hand.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Cryptorank, a site that tracks crypto investment funds. So when you ask about a fund, your AI quietly asks this helper, the helper asks Cryptorank, and the answer comes back to you in the chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like which Tier 1 venture funds exist or who runs a specific fund. Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper then talks to the Cryptorank service using your personal API key, which is like a password that lets it read the fund data. Cryptorank sends back the details, and the helper turns them into neat little text tables. Your AI shows you those tables right in the chat, so you can read the numbers and names at a glance.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- List all crypto investors and funds in the database
- Search funds by tier, type, and sort them by return or size
- Get basic metrics for one fund, like portfolio size and ROI
- Pull a full profile of a fund, including focus areas and recent rounds
- See who is on a fund's team, with their roles and social links
- Compare funds by jurisdiction, funding stages, or average deal size
Try asking your AI
- “Show me a list of all crypto venture funds you can find.”
- “Search for Tier 1 venture funds sorted by retail ROI, top 20.”
- “Give me the basic metrics for fund ID 1.”
- “Who is on the team for fund ID 3, with their roles and social links?”
What it gives back to you
You get back tidy text tables in the chat. They can list many funds at once, or show one fund's details like tier, portfolio size, ROI, focus areas, recent investments, and team members. Numbers and names are lined up in columns so they are easy to scan. Nothing is changed or saved anywhere, it is all read-only information.
