Stablecoin Peg Monitor MCP server
by kukapay
Lets your AI check whether stablecoins like USDT and USDC are still holding their $1 peg.

This is a small helper that lets your AI look up stablecoin prices and check whether they are still worth about one dollar. It is handy if you follow crypto, write reports, or just want a quick sanity check on coins like USDT, USDC or DAI. You do not need to be a developer to use it, you just ask your AI in normal words.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to live stablecoin price data across several blockchains, so it can look up prices and peg information for you. You ask a question, the AI asks this helper, and the helper fetches the numbers.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like whether USDC is still near a dollar. The AI passes that request to this helper. The helper goes out to price sources, pulls the current price and recent history for that stablecoin, and works out how far it has drifted from $1. Then it hands the numbers back to your AI, which writes them up for you in a neat Markdown table or a short report. You get the answer in the chat, no spreadsheets needed.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- List the stablecoins this server knows about
- Check the current price of a stablecoin and how far it is from $1
- Pull a price history for the last few days
- Get a stability report with the biggest deviation and a Stable, Moderately Stable or Unstable label
- Compare a few stablecoins side by side in one answer
- Spot a coin that has drifted more than 3 percent, which the report flags as a possible depeg risk
Try asking your AI
- “Get the current price of USDT and tell me how far it is from a dollar”
- “Show the price history of USDC for the last 7 days”
- “Analyze the peg stability of DAI over the past week”
- “List all supported stablecoins with their descriptions”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain chat, usually as a small Markdown table with dates, prices and deviation percentages. For a stability check you also get the maximum deviation and a status word like Stable or Unstable. Everything is written out so you can copy it into a report or a message.
Before you start
What you need
- Python 3.10 or higher installed on your computer
- The uv tool installed (a small helper for running Python programs)
- A terminal or command window where you can run a couple of commands
Good to know
The prices come from outside sources and can be delayed or wrong, so do not treat this as financial advice or as a trading signal.
