DAO Proposals MCP server
by kukapay
Lets your AI pull live governance proposals from major DAOs so you can read and compare them.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Snapshot, a site where many crypto projects run their votes. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI things like which proposals are open right now, and it will go and fetch the real, current information for you. It is handy for anyone who follows crypto projects or works in a team that tracks them.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Snapshot, the place where many crypto communities (called DAOs) post and vote on proposals. So when you ask about a proposal, your AI can actually go look it up instead of guessing.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about DAO governance, like which proposals are open. The AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper then talks to Snapshot and pulls back the current list of spaces or proposals. The AI reads what came back and writes it up for you in the chat, in plain language. You get the real, up to date picture without visiting the site yourself.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- List recent Snapshot spaces with their IDs and descriptions
- List the latest proposals for a specific DAO space
- Check the state of a proposal (active, closed, and so on)
- See the choices and current vote scores for a proposal
- Read the full body text of a specific proposal
- Ask your AI to summarize recent proposals for a space
Try asking your AI
- “Can you show me a list of the most recent Snapshot spaces?”
- “Please list the recent proposals for the ENS DAO, space ID ens.eth”
- “Give me the details of the proposal with ID 0x123...”
- “Summarize the recent proposals for ens.eth”
What it gives back to you
You get back plain text in the chat: lists of spaces or proposals with their IDs, titles, states, and dates, or the full details of one proposal including its choices, scores, and vote counts. Your AI may also write a short summary of what the proposals are about. Nothing is changed on Snapshot itself; this is read only.
