Whale Tracker MCP server
by kukapay
Lets your AI look up large cryptocurrency transactions from the Whale Alert service when you ask.

This is a small helper that connects your AI to Whale Alert, a service that watches big cryptocurrency transfers. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI about recent large moves on Bitcoin, Ethereum and other blockchains, and it will go and fetch the details for you. It is handy if you follow crypto markets and want quick answers without opening a separate website.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Whale Alert, so it can look up large crypto transactions for you. When you ask a question, the AI passes it to this helper, and the helper talks to Whale Alert and brings the answer back.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something about big crypto transfers, like recent whale moves on Bitcoin. The AI sends that request to this helper program. The helper then asks the Whale Alert service for the matching transactions, using filters you mentioned such as the blockchain, a minimum dollar value, or a limit on how many results. Whale Alert sends back the data, and the helper hands it to your AI. Your AI then shows you the results in plain language in the chat.
What you can do with it
- List recent large crypto transactions on a chosen blockchain
- Filter transactions by a minimum dollar value
- Limit how many transactions come back
- Look up the details of one specific transaction by its ID
- Ask for a short analysis of whale activity on a blockchain
- Pull recent transactions for a blockchain as background context
Try asking your AI
- “Show me recent whale transactions on Bitcoin.”
- “What are the latest whale transactions on Ethereum with a minimum value of $1,000,000?”
- “Tell me about transaction ID 123456789.”
- “Analyze recent whale transactions on Bitcoin.”
What it gives back to you
You get a list of large transactions, usually with the blockchain, the amount, and the dollar value where the service provides it. If you asked about one specific transaction, you get the details for that one. If you asked for an analysis, your AI writes a short summary of what it sees in the data. Everything appears as normal text in your chat window.
Before you start
What you need
- Python version 3.10 or higher
- A Whale Alert API key (a kind of password for apps; you sign up at whale-alert.io and they give you one)
- An MCP client such as the Claude desktop app
Good to know
It only reads data from Whale Alert, so it will not move or change anything, but the answers are only as good as what that service reports and you need a valid API key for it to work.
Install it with your AI
Add Whale Tracker MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Whale Tracker MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Crypto followers, market watchers, and analysts who want quick answers about large cryptocurrency transfers without leaving their AI chat.
