OpenAccountants MCP server
Lets your AI look up tax guides by country, state or province, with the name of the accountant who reviewed them.

OpenAccountants is a library of tax guides written for AI assistants to read. Each guide covers things like income tax, VAT and payroll for a particular country, US state or Canadian province. It is handy if you ask your AI tax questions and want answers that point to a real source instead of a guess.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper that gives your AI one extra skill or connection. This one connects your AI to the OpenAccountants tax guide library. So when you ask a tax question, your AI can go and read the right guide and bring the details back to you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a tax question, like what a freelancer owes in South Africa. Your AI passes the question to this helper. The helper looks through the OpenAccountants guides for the place and topic you mentioned. It sends back the matching guide content, including the figures and the name of the accountant who reviewed it. Your AI then writes the answer for you, using that guide as its source.

- “I am a freelancer in South Africa. What do I owe?”
- “What are the payroll rules for small employers in Ontario?”
- “Which accountant reviewed the UK income tax guide?”
What it gives back to you
You get a written answer in the chat, built from the matching guide. It usually includes the key figures, the forms or steps involved, and the name of the accountant who reviewed that guide. Some answers also show which guide was used, so you can see where the information came from.
