Packkit MCP server
by PackkitLabs
Let your AI create starter projects in JavaScript, Python, or Go, and combine a frontend with a backend.

Packkit is a helper that lets your AI build the starting files for a new software project. Instead of you clicking through setup wizards, you just tell your AI what you want and it lays out the folders and files. It is handy if you write code or are learning to, and you want a clean starting point without doing all the boring setup yourself.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your AI to Packkit, a set of project starters for JavaScript, Python, and Go. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI to set up a project and it will actually do it for you.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI something like "make me a Python web service" or "start a React app." Your AI asks this Packkit helper which kinds of projects are available, and what options each one has. The helper answers with the choices, and your AI shows them to you or picks sensible ones. Then your AI asks the helper to build the project, and you get back a list of the files it would create, or the real files written to your computer if you say so.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- See every kind of project Packkit can create
- Look at the options and presets for a project type
- Preview the files a new project would include before anything is written
- Create the actual project files on your computer
- Combine a frontend and a backend into one fullstack project
- Plan an upgrade for a project you already have, showing what changed
Try asking your AI
- “What kinds of projects can Packkit create?”
- “Show me the options for a Python HTTP service.”
- “Preview a new TypeScript library called my-tools.”
- “Make me a fullstack project with a React frontend and a FastAPI backend.”
What it gives back to you
You get back plain answers in the chat: a list of project types, a list of options, or a preview of the folder and file structure. If you ask it to actually create the project, it writes the files to your computer and tells you what it made. For upgrades, it shows you a plan of what would change without touching anything.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app or another AI app that supports MCP servers
- Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs JavaScript tools)
Good to know
The generate_project tool can write files to your computer when you set write to true, so check the preview first.
Install it with your AI
Add Packkit MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Packkit MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Developers and people learning to code who want a fast, clean starting point for a new project.
