Bestax MCP server
by allxsmith · official
Lets your AI look up Bestax React components, their props, examples and CSS variables while it writes code.
This is a helper for people who build web pages with Bestax, a set of ready-made React building blocks based on Bulma. It gives your AI the full reference for those building blocks, so it can write correct code instead of guessing. It is handy if you or your team already use Bestax and want your AI to help with the code.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat from what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection. This one connects your AI to the Bestax component library, so when you ask it to build or fix something, it can look up the real component names, settings and examples. It runs on your own computer and works offline.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like which Bestax component to use for a navigation bar. The AI calls this helper, and the helper looks through its built-in index of the library. It finds the matching components, their settings, working code examples and the CSS variables behind them. The AI then uses that real information to write or correct your code, and you get an answer based on the actual library rather than a guess.
What you can do with it
- List every Bestax component by category
- Search components, props, examples and CSS variables in one ranked list
- Get a component's import line, summary and props
- Pull working code examples for a component
- Look up the CSS variables a component uses
- Find the right helper props before writing an inline style
- Match a Bulma class like button is-primary to the right component and props
Try asking your AI
- “Which Bestax component should I use for a card with an image and a button?”
- “Show me a working example of a Navbar with a brand and a menu.”
- “What props does the Button component accept?”
- “I have button is-primary in my HTML. What Bestax component and props should I use instead?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat: lists of components, prop tables, short working code examples, and CSS variable names with their defaults. If you ask for a component, the AI can show its import line and settings. The helper also warns you if the version of Bestax installed in your project does not match the version it documents.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js installed on your computer (it comes with npx, the tool that runs this helper)
- A project that uses the @allxsmith/bestax-bulma package, so the version check has something to compare
- An AI app that supports MCP servers, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Claude Desktop
Good to know
It only documents one specific Bestax version, so check the version warning it gives before trusting the props it describes.
Install it with your AI
Add Bestax MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Bestax MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,361 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Front-end developers and anyone building React pages with the Bestax and Bulma component library.
