PreReason MCP server
by PreReason
Lets your AI pull ready-made Bitcoin and macro market briefings, with trends and signals already worked out.

PreReason is a service that puts together short market briefings about Bitcoin and the wider economy. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to those briefings, so instead of raw numbers you get a written summary with a signal, a direction and a confidence score. It is handy if you follow crypto or markets and want quick context without opening five different websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill or one new connection. This helper connects your AI to PreReason, so when you ask about Bitcoin or the Fed balance sheet, your AI can go and fetch the briefing for you. You do not need to understand how it works. You just ask, and the answer comes back in the chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "give me the Bitcoin quick check". Your AI passes that request to this helper, which talks to the PreReason service over the internet. PreReason sends back a briefing that already has the analysis inside it: a signal line, trend direction over several time windows, confidence scores and percentile ranks. Your AI then shows you that briefing as a normal answer in the chat. Some briefings also include a regime label and a short plain-language explanation.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Get a fast Bitcoin check with price, liquidity and correlation
- See a macro snapshot covering the Fed balance sheet, M2 and Treasury yields
- Check Bitcoin trend direction over 7, 30 and 90 day windows
- Look up spot Bitcoin ETF daily flows and total holdings
- See how Bitcoin moves compared with stocks like SPY, QQQ and IWM
- Check miner stress and hashprice conditions
- List every briefing and metric that is available
Try asking your AI
- “Give me the Bitcoin quick check”
- “Show me the macro snapshot”
- “What does the BTC context briefing say about market conditions?”
- “What's the hash ribbon signal right now?”
What it gives back to you
You get a written briefing back in the chat, usually as a short report with a signal line, trend direction, confidence scores and percentile ranks. Some briefings add a regime label like risk-on or risk-off, plus a short narrative in plain words. You can also ask for a single metric, which comes back with its own trend and signal. Everything appears as normal text you can read or copy.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app, or another AI app that supports MCP connections
- Node.js 18 or newer, if you use the Claude Desktop setup
- A free PreReason account, which you create when you approve the access link
- An API key from PreReason for the deeper briefings (the free ones work without one)
Good to know
The deeper briefings need a paid plan, so check what your account covers before you rely on them, and remember the briefings are market commentary, not financial advice.
Install it with your AI

Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check PreReason MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
