PuntersEdge MCP server
by Propertyscout001 · official
Ask your AI for live Australian racing and sports odds from 14 bookmakers, with best prices and results.
This is a helper for your AI that connects it to a live feed of Australian racing and sports odds. You can ask what is racing next, what each bookmaker is paying, and who won. It is handy if you follow the races or just want to compare prices without opening ten websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to PuntersEdge, a live Australian odds feed. Once it is set up, your AI can look up races and prices for you when you ask, instead of you hunting through bookmaker sites yourself.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like what is the next race at Randwick. Your AI passes that question to this helper. The helper talks to the PuntersEdge service and pulls back the upcoming races, every bookmaker's price for each runner, and how old each price is. Your AI then writes it up for you in the chat. It only reads data. It never places a bet or touches a bookmaker account.
What you can do with it
- See the next races about to jump, with every bookmaker's price per runner
- Find the best available price for each runner and which book is offering it
- Check the upcoming schedule of venues, race numbers and jump times
- Look up settled results and dividends for races already run
- Spot runners that are firming or drifting across the market
- Get odds for sports like AFL, NRL, NBA, NFL, tennis and cricket
- Check how many credits you have left this month
Try asking your AI
- “What's the next race at Randwick and who's favourite?”
- “Show me the best odds for the next three races at Flemington”
- “Which runners are firming sharply in the next hour?”
- “What were the results for race 5 at Moonee Valley today?”
What it gives back to you
You get back a written answer in the chat, usually a list of races or runners with prices next to each bookmaker. It also tells you how fresh each price is, so you know if a number is seconds old or has gone quiet. For results, you get the settled placings and dividends. It can also show your remaining credits for the month.
Before you start
What you need
- A free PuntersEdge API key from puntersedge.online (a kind of password for apps; the site gives you one for free)
- Node.js 18 or newer installed on your computer
- Git installed, because the server builds itself the first time it runs
- An MCP client like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code
Good to know
It only reads odds and results, it never places a bet or touches bookmaker accounts, and some prices can be stale, so check the age shown before treating a number as current.
Install it with your AI
