This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to a trading platform called Capital.com. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI things like what a market is doing or to prepare a trade, and it will talk to Capital.com for you. It is meant for people who already have a Capital.com account and want to try things out safely on a demo account first.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Capital.com, so it can look up markets, check your account, and prepare trades when you ask. You stay in control, because trades are off by default and every trade has to be confirmed.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about markets or your Capital.com account. Your AI passes that request to this helper. The helper logs in to Capital.com using your API key and asks for the information or prepares the action. For trades, it first shows you a preview so you can check the details, and only places the trade after you confirm. Then it brings the answer or the result back into your chat.

What you can do with it

  • Search for markets and instruments by name
  • Look up current prices and historical price candles
  • See client long and short positioning for a market
  • List your open positions and pending orders
  • Preview a trade without placing it
  • Execute, amend, or close a trade after you confirm
  • Manage watchlists and check your account history

Try asking your AI

  • “What is the current price of gold on Capital.com?”
  • “Show me my open positions and pending orders”
  • “Preview a small buy on gold and show me the details before I confirm”
  • “Add Tesla to my main watchlist”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in plain chat: prices, lists of markets, your positions, or a trade preview with the key numbers. When you confirm a trade, it tells you whether the trade was placed and gives you a reference. It can also show account history and watchlist contents. Everything comes back as text you can read and ask follow-up questions about.
