Transita MCP server

by snenenenenenene

Ask your AI where you could move, and it checks your profile against real visa rules.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “I'm an Indian software engineer. Where should I move?”, the Transita MCP server connects it to Transita, and you get back ranked list of visas.

Transita is a service that helps people figure out which country they could move to, and this little helper lets your AI assistant use the same visa information. You describe your situation in normal words, and your AI comes back with visa options that fit. It is handy if you are thinking about moving abroad and do not want to read ten government websites.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program you connect once, and it gives your AI a new skill or a link to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Transita, a visa and immigration service. After that, when you ask about moving abroad, your AI can look up real visa rules instead of guessing.

What this MCP server does

You tell your AI about yourself, like your nationality, your education, your work experience and where you would like to go. Your AI passes that to this helper, and the helper asks the Transita service. Transita scores your profile against the visas it tracks and sends back a ranked list. Your AI then explains the results in the chat, in plain words, with links to the official government pages.

What you can do with it

  • Find visas you may qualify for based on your nationality, education and work history
  • Compare two or three visa pathways side by side, like fastest or cheapest
  • Read the details of one visa, including fees, processing time and permanent residency path
  • Get a country overview with top cities and typical rent ranges
  • See which destinations are popular for citizens of your country
  • Check whether a round-based programme is currently open and what its cutoff score was

Try asking your AI

  • “I'm an Indian software engineer with a master's degree and 5 years of experience. Where should I move?”
  • “Compare the US O-1A, Germany's EU Blue Card and Portugal's D8. Which is fastest and which has the best path to permanent residency?”
  • “What does Portugal's D8 digital nomad visa actually require?”
  • “How do Germany and the Netherlands compare for someone in my situation?”

What it gives back to you

You get a ranked list of visa options with a short reason for each, plus fees, processing times and links to the official source. If you ask for a comparison, you get a small table with the differences spelled out. For a single visa, you get a summary of the requirements and a preview of the document checklist. Everything shows up right in your chat, written out by your AI.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AI assistant that supports MCP, like Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, Continue or Zed
  • Node.js installed on your computer (the helper runs through a tool called npx)

Good to know

The visa information comes from Transita and is verified monthly, but it is guidance, not legal advice, so always check the official government page before making decisions.

Install it with your AI

Add Transita MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Transita MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
