tip.md Crypto Tipping MCP server

Lets your AI send small crypto tips to people on Base or Solana and check your tipping wallet.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to tip.md, a service for sending small cryptocurrency tips to people. Once it is set up, you can just tell your AI who to tip and how much, and it handles the payment steps for you. It is mainly for people who already use crypto and want a simple way to send tips from inside a chat.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to tip.md, so it can send crypto tips and check your tipping wallet when you ask. You do not need to understand how it works inside; you just talk to your AI like normal.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like tip a certain person 5 USDC on Base. The AI passes that request to this helper, which talks to the tip.md service and the payment tools behind it. The payment is collected from your dedicated tipping wallet, and the service sends most of it to the person you named and a small cut to the platform. Then your AI tells you it is done, and you can check your balance any time.

What it gives back to you

You get short answers in the chat, like a balance number, a confirmation that a tip was sent, or a list of wallet types a person accepts. If something goes wrong, you get an error message explaining what happened. You do not get files or long reports, just plain replies you can act on.

Before you start

What you need

Node.js installed on your computer to run the server
An MCP client like Cursor or the Claude desktop app to connect it to
For real payments: a MongoDB database address, Coinbase Developer Platform keys, and an x402 wallet private key
For trying it out: no setup needed, it has a demo mode

Good to know

This server can move real cryptocurrency and can reveal your wallet private key, so only use it with wallets and amounts you are comfortable with.
