x402search MCP server
by x402-index
Search 14,000+ x402-enabled HTTP APIs by keyword, paying a cent in USDC per search on Base.

This is a small helper that lets your AI search a big directory of x402-enabled web APIs. It is handy if you build or explore crypto and blockchain tools and want to find an API that fits a job. Each search costs about one cent in USDC on the Base network, and you do not need an account.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This helper connects your AI to the x402search directory, so when you ask for an API, the AI can look it up there for you. You do not need to know how it works inside; you just ask in plain words.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like find a token price API. The AI sends that request to this helper. The helper talks to the x402search service, which searches its list of x402-enabled APIs. To run the search, it pays a tiny fee in USDC from your wallet. Then the AI shows you the matching APIs in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search for x402-enabled APIs by keyword
- Filter results by maximum price in USDC
- Limit how many results come back
- Look for APIs on a specific network like Base
- Find crypto, DeFi, and blockchain API options
- See endpoint URLs and payment details for each result
Try asking your AI
- “Find an API for token prices on Ethereum”
- “Search for a DEX swap routing API under two cents”
- “Show me five blockchain data APIs on Base”
- “Look up x402 APIs for wallet balances”
What it gives back to you
You get a list of matching APIs. Each result usually includes the endpoint URL, payment details, the network, and a relevance rank. Your AI shows this as a short list in the chat, and you can ask follow-up questions about any of them.
Before you start
What you need
- A wallet private key for an EVM network
- Some USDC on Base mainnet to pay the search fee
- Node.js installed if you use the npx setup, or Python if you use the pip package
Good to know
Each search spends a small amount of USDC from your wallet, and you are giving the helper your wallet private key, so keep that key safe and use a wallet with only a little money in it.
