Pattern Vista MCP server
by xsf0221 · official
Lets your AI pull nightly S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 chart patterns, win rates, and how far stocks sit from their 200-day average.

Pattern Vista is a service that scans US stocks every night and publishes two things: how far each stock sits from its 200-day moving average, and which chart patterns showed up, with their past success rates. This MCP server connects that data to your AI assistant, so you can just ask questions in plain English instead of running commands yourself. It is handy if you follow the markets and want quick numbers without opening a spreadsheet or a charting site.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. It has no way to look up live market data. An MCP server is a small helper program you connect once, and it gives your AI a new skill: here, the ability to ask Pattern Vista for stock data. After that, when you ask a question, your AI quietly calls this helper, the helper fetches the numbers, and your AI explains them back to you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like which stocks are furthest below their 200-day average. Your AI passes that question to this helper. The helper sends it to Pattern Vista's servers, which look up the latest nightly scan. The answer comes back as a short list of tickers with their numbers, and your AI turns it into a normal sentence for you. You never see any code.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- See which stocks are furthest above or below their 200-day average
- Check how stretched or depressed the overall market is right now
- Get last night's flagged chart patterns with their historical win rates
- Look up one ticker and see its deviation plus recent patterns
- Check which account your key belongs to and whether it is on a paid tier
Try asking your AI
- “Which S&P 500 stocks are furthest below their 200-day average right now?”
- “How stretched is the market today compared to its own history?”
- “What patterns did last night's scan flag, and how have they done historically?”
- “Give me everything you have on AAPL.”
What it gives back to you
You get back short lists and summaries in the chat: tickers with their closing price, 200-day average, and how far off they are, or a single percentage for overall market breadth. Pattern results come with a historical 20-day win rate when your account is on a paid tier. Your AI usually rewrites this into a few sentences, but you can ask it to show the raw list too.
Before you start
What you need
- A Pattern Vista account (free tier works, but shows only the top 2 rows and no win rates)
- An API key from pattern-vista.com, found under Account then API keys
- uv installed if you want to run it without a separate install step
Good to know
Free accounts only see the top 2 rows and no win rates, so a short list may mean you hit the free limit rather than a quiet market; also, this is market data, not investment advice, and past performance does not guarantee future results.
Install it with your AI
Add Pattern Vista MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Pattern Vista MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Investors, traders, and finance-minded analysts who already use an AI assistant and want quick market context without leaving the chat.
