Duke study shows AI can spot ADHD risk years before diagnosis
Researchers at Duke Health trained an AI model to analyze electronic health records and identify children at risk of developing ADHD before they receive a clinical diagnosis. The model examined records from more than 140,000 children and recognized patterns in medical history that appeared years before typical diagnosis.
The tool proved highly accurate for children ages 5 and older, though it does not make diagnoses. Instead, it flags patients who warrant closer clinical attention.
"This is not an AI doctor," said Matthew Engelhard, M.D., Ph.D., the study's senior author. "It's a tool to help clinicians focus their time and resources, so kids who need help don't fall through the cracks or wait years for answers."
St. Luke's deploys Auxira Health platform for cardiology support
St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is using Auxira Health's model to add virtual care teams around individual cardiologists. The platform provides nurse practitioners and medical assistants who handle care coordination online.
Twenty-four cardiologists currently use the system, with plans to expand across St. Luke's Heart and Vascular network in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Ray Durkin, M.D., cardiology chair at St. Luke's, said the collaboration strengthens connections between patients and doctors while broadening the care team supporting follow-up and continuity.
Turn.io opens applications for AI-powered health chat program
Turn.io is accepting applications for its Chat for Health Accelerator Program, which will support 10 healthcare organizations across the Global South. The 2026 cohort will build AI-powered chat and voice services on WhatsApp, with voice capabilities provided by ElevenLabs and AI from Anthropic.
Participants will operate from July through December 2026, launching live services aimed at low-literacy and multilingual patients. The program runs through May 31.

Sage announced Tasking, a workflow platform that connects directly to electronic health records systems to unify care delivery. The tool lets caregivers document tasks in real time and gives leadership better visibility into operations.
Ellen Johnson, Sage co-founder and chief product officer, said the platform addresses a core problem: caregivers spending time chasing information rather than delivering care. "By bringing planned and unplanned care into one simple experience, we're helping teams stay focused on delivering great care to residents."
