Deep Learning Workshop: Bandung City Government Urges Teachers to Embrace AI Skills

The Bandung City Government is actively supporting the digital transformation in education by encouraging teachers to enhance their skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This commitment was highlighted by Deputy Mayor Erwin during the Deep Learning Workshop held at the Bandung City Pendopo on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The event was organized by the Bandung City Branch Management of the Nahdlatul Ulama Teachers Association (Pergunu).
Erwin praised Pergunu for taking concrete steps to strengthen teachers' capabilities in adapting to digital technology. He stressed that the focus is not just on technology itself, but on preparing educators to face future challenges. Deep learning, AI, and other digital technologies are integral parts of everyday life and will shape the future of education. Therefore, teachers must understand these technologies and know how to incorporate them effectively in their teaching.
Workshop Theme and Objectives
The workshop, themed “Building Artificial Intelligence from Basic to Advanced,” served as a platform for educators to improve their digital skills. Erwin also emphasized the importance of maintaining ethical standards, character development, and national values when using technology.
