DianaHR launches production-grade "HR Agent" to automate employee onboarding
DianaHR has introduced its Agentic Onboarding system, which the company says is the first production-grade AI "HR agent" built to run end-to-end employee onboarding with minimal human touch. It moves a new hire from a signed offer letter into payroll accurately and securely, without asking HR to rekey data.
Unlike traditional HR software that depends on self-service data entry, the Onboarding Agent acts like an autonomous teammate. Clients start by forwarding an onboarding email to DianaHR-no special setup or training required.
How it works
- Reads the forwarded email and confirms it's a new-hire onboarding request.
- Checks for a signed offer letter; if missing, drafts and sends the request.
- Verifies all required signatures; if any are missing, follows up automatically.
- Identifies missing new-hire fields and asks for them, just like an HR assistant would.
- Once complete, enters the new employee's information into the payroll system.
Why this matters for HR teams
Onboarding a single employee can take 30 minutes or more-even longer for founders or managers without HR experience. That's time spent chasing signatures, double-checking details, and ensuring payroll accuracy.
DianaHR's agent removes that repetitive load so teams can scale headcount without adding back-office overhead. The feature is live today and already handling client onboardings.
Human-in-the-loop where it counts
Every client still has a dedicated DianaHR specialist for coordination and expertise. Most steps run on autopilot, but there's a human point of contact for exceptions and escalation.
Company snapshot
DianaHR was founded by Upeka Bee, formerly Head of Engineering at Gusto. The platform delivers HR-as-a-Service for SMBs by automating routine HR tasks, with reported savings of 15+ hours per week and a 60% reduction in costs for owners who would otherwise build in-house capacity.
Practical tips if you're considering AI-driven onboarding
- Standardize your offer letter template and signature flow to reduce back-and-forth.
- Create a single inbox/alias for onboarding requests so the agent can pick them up reliably.
- Define what "complete" means (signatures, required fields) before payroll entry.
- Track cycle time, error rates, and rework to quantify impact against your baseline.
