Google adds AI agents and mobile apps to creative Flow tools
Google has extended its creative software suite with new AI agents, editing capabilities and mobile apps for Google Flow and Google Flow Music. The update brings Gemini Omni Flash-a model that works with video, images and audio-directly into both platforms, alongside tools for project planning and custom workflow creation.
The changes reflect how major technology companies are competing to embed generative AI into creative work. Google is positioning these updates to help creators not just generate content from prompts, but also manage revisions and organize projects.
What's new in Flow
Gemini Omni Flash now powers Google Flow, Google's video and image generation platform available in more than 140 countries. The model maintains character consistency so identity and voice remain stable across scenes-a practical concern for filmmakers and video producers working with mixed real-world and generated footage.
Google Flow Agent, rolling out globally, assists with brainstorming, dialogue development and plot suggestions. It can produce multiple variations at once and batch-edit assets so changes carry across an entire project. The agent also organizes generated material into collections and renames files.
A new feature called Google Flow Tools lets creators build custom workflows using natural language prompts instead of code. Users can create image editors, video resizers or custom effects, then share them with other Flow users. Google AI subscribers can create and remix tools; all users can access existing ones.
Music editing gets granular control
Flow Music now supports section-by-section editing. Creators can highlight individual parts of a song and alter only those sections-rewriting lyrics, changing a beat drop, or sampling one section without affecting the rest of the track.
A new covers feature lets users transform the style of complete songs while keeping melody and structure intact. Gemini Omni is also coming to Flow Music for music video creation, allowing users to direct videos conversationally and guide style and scenes to match a track's narrative.
Mobile access arrives
Google is launching mobile apps for both Flow and Flow Music. The Flow app is available in beta on Android for users 18 and over; Flow Music is on iOS. Full Android support for Flow Music and iOS support for Flow are coming later. Mobile apps are designed to support creation away from a desktop, though the web versions remain the primary platforms for full feature access.
