Lucis raises $20M Series A for AI-driven preventive health platform
Preventive health startup Lucis closed a $20 million Series A round led by Singular, with backing from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and several angel investors. The funding brings total capital to $28 million, four months after the company raised $8 million in seed funding.
Lucis analyzes more than 110 blood biomarkers-covering metabolic health, hormones, cardiovascular risk, inflammation, and nutrient levels-and feeds the results into an AI-powered app alongside longitudinal health data. Physicians review the AI-generated recommendations, which cover nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle changes, and follow-up testing.
The platform launched in 2025 and has grown to over 10,000 users across France, the UK, Ireland, and Portugal. The company has delivered more than one million biomarker tests and operates partnerships with laboratory groups including Eurofins and Randox.
Early user data shows engagement and outcomes
Among users who completed a six-month follow-up, 75 percent improved at least three biomarkers without medication. More than 80 percent chose to retest, indicating sustained engagement with their health data.
At initial testing, 99.9 percent of users had at least one biomarker outside optimal ranges, often without prior awareness. The finding underscores how health risks can remain undetected without regular monitoring.
Expansion plans and clinical oversight
Lucis plans to expand into Spain, Germany, and Italy by the end of 2026. The company operates with a team of 20 and a medical board supported by a network of 10+ physicians providing clinical oversight.
Jeremy Uzan, co-founder and GP at Singular, said: "Europe's preventive health category will be won by platforms that unite clinical credibility with AI at scale. Lucis has moved with remarkable velocity, reaching 10,000 users in under a year, delivering measurable outcomes and building a compounding data advantage that sets the standard for the category."
Co-founder and CEO Maxime Berthelot said the company built Lucis to catch health risks before symptoms appear. "Europe deserves a healthcare model that doesn't wait for people to get sick," he said. "We are making prevention the default, rather than a privilege."
