Computex 2026 brings chip makers and AI infrastructure strategy into focus
Computex 2026 opens June 2 in Taipei with 1,500 corporations from 33 countries operating 6,000 booths. The event, themed "AI Together," will draw executives from Nvidia, Qualcomm, Arm, Intel, and Samsung Electronics to showcase AI servers, data centers, semiconductors, and robotics.
Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon delivers the opening keynote on June 1, presenting the company's agentic AI and computing strategy. The same day, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang speaks at GTC Taipei 2026 at Taipei Music Center, expected to introduce next-generation AI, robotics, and accelerated computing technologies.
Huang's keynote is drawing particular attention from strategists tracking semiconductor supply chains. Samsung Electronics said on May 29 that it began shipping samples of seventh-generation high bandwidth memory (HBM4E), which analysts cite as a candidate for Nvidia's next-generation AI accelerators. Nvidia plans a media briefing on the second day of opening to discuss next-generation AI accelerators and memory specifications.
The event marks a shift in Computex's focus. Once centered on PCs and peripherals, the exhibition now emphasizes AI infrastructure, semiconductor manufacturing, and robotics applications across industries.
Korean companies position for AI infrastructure demand
Thirty-nine Korean companies are participating, with SK hynix and Samsung Electronics showcasing memory solutions for data centers and AI systems. Samsung Display will debut a 31.5-inch 4K, 360 Hz QD-OLED monitor panel-the first to achieve both 4K resolution and 360 Hz refresh rate in this category.
HANMI Semiconductor will exhibit equipment for high-bandwidth memory production, including a wide TC bonder used in manufacturing expanded-capacity HBM chips. This equipment supports the back-end processing required for high-speed data handling in AI infrastructure.
Huang is scheduled to visit Korea after Computex, marking his first trip in approximately seven months. SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won is expected to attend the GTC Taipei keynote dinner, along with executives from Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Hyundai Motor Group, LG Electronics, Doosan, and Naver.
Robotics and embedded systems gain exhibition space
The event organizers are expanding robotics exhibits with a dedicated Robotics Zone and Tech Experience Zone at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. Intel, Texas Instruments, Solomon, and E Ink will demonstrate AI robotics, machine vision, embedded systems, and smart application technologies.
Other semiconductor leaders speaking on opening day include Marvell CEO Matt Murphy, Arm CEO Rene Haas, Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, and NXP CEO Rafael Sotomayor.
For executives tracking AI infrastructure strategy and semiconductor supply chain developments, Computex 2026 serves as a venue where major players announce product roadmaps and memory specifications that affect data center deployments and AI system design decisions.
