Virginia Tech Workshop Teaches Project Managers How to Use AI Effectively
Virginia Tech Roanoke Center is offering a three-day workshop on AI-enabled project management June 24-26, designed for professionals who want to apply AI tools to documentation, communication, planning, and workflow management without needing coding experience.
The workshop costs $1,495 and runs 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. In-person attendance is encouraged, though virtual participation is available.
Darryl Agee, an adjunct professor in the Pamplin College of Business and experienced project management trainer, will lead the workshop. The curriculum focuses on real project scenarios rather than theory.
What You'll Learn
Participants will work through hands-on exercises to practice using AI for:
- Drafting and refining project communications
- Organizing meeting notes and action items
- Creating structured project documentation
- Developing repeatable templates and workflows
- Preparing stakeholder updates and reports
- Improving consistency across project processes
- Streamlining information gathering and organization
The workshop assumes no prior AI or technical background. Content is grounded in project management fundamentals.
Who Should Attend
The workshop targets project managers and professionals responsible for planning, communication, and documentation. Organizations are encouraged to send teams so colleagues can develop shared workflows together.
