AI agent for training coordinators
Course Prerequisite Mapping Agent
Every lesson's prerequisites are taught earlier in the course.
What it does
New lessons sometimes assume knowledge that earlier modules never taught. Learners then fail without knowing why. This agent extracts every skill a lesson draft assumes, searches earlier modules for where each one is taught, and lists the gaps, most critical first. For each gap it drafts a short bridging exercise. It then checks that the bridge itself relies only on skills already covered. If a bridge depends on another missing skill, it revises the bridge or flags that the course order should change. The curriculum coordinator approves the repairs. Edge case: a skill taught only in an optional module counts as not covered for learners who skip it.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Lesson draft submitted
- Extract assumed prerequisites
- Search earlier modules for coverage
- Is every prerequisite covered earlier? If not: draft a bridging exercise. Back to step 3.
- Does the bridge rely only on covered skills? If not: revise it or flag sequencing. Back to step 4.
- Curriculum coordinator approvesThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Prerequisite repair draft
How it decides
It investigates the most critical uncovered prerequisite first and checks each bridge against coverage too.
- Which gap first: the one most critical to the lesson's objective.
- Bridge or reorder: reorder modules when bridges would chain more than two levels.
- Covered: only when taught in a required earlier module.
- Bridge length: keep bridges under 15 minutes or flag for a new lesson.
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Maximum bridge length (default 15 minutes)
- Which modules count as covered (default required modules only)
- Format of bridges (default short explanation plus 3 practice items)
- When the check runs (default on every lesson draft)
- Who approves (default the curriculum coordinator)
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Changing learning outcomes
Hard limits
- Draft only.
It stops when
- Done: all prerequisites covered.
