AI agent for vice president of operations
Cross-Site Benchmark and Practice Transfer Agent
Proven practices are moved from the best sites to the others through approved, measured pilots.
What it does
One warehouse cut mispicks by a third, and the other four sites never heard how. This agent compares sites every month on productivity, quality and cost. It adjusts for product mix, volume and shift pattern so the comparison is fair, then identifies outliers, good and bad. For the best performers, it looks up what they do differently in procedures, layouts, staffing and tools, from documents and the managers' notes. It drafts a transfer plan for a pilot at a lagging site with a target. After the pilot starts, it checks results against the target and adjusts the plan if it falls short. You approve each pilot. Edge case: a site with the best score because of an easy product mix is not treated as a model.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Monthly site reports close
- Load KPIs by site, product mix and shift pattern
- Adjust each site's results for mix and volume
- Identify top and bottom outliers by metric
- Read procedures and manager notes at the top sites
- List practices that differ and link them to the gap
- Is the gap still real after adjusting for mix and volume? If not: Adjust with more factors, and drop the site as a model if the gap disappears. Back to step 2.
- Draft a pilot plan for the lagging site with a target
- VP approves each pilotThe agent waits here for your OK.
- After 6 weeks, did the pilot reach at least half the target? If not: Adjust the plan, add missing practices and rerun the pilot. Back to step 8.
- Benchmark report and pilot status
How it decides
It calls a site an outlier when its mix-adjusted result is more than 1.5 standard deviations from the group, and picks practices that differ and are linked to the gap.
- Outlier when more than 1.5 standard deviations from the mean
- Adjust for product mix before ranking
- Pilot at one site at a time
- Review pilots at 6 weeks
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Metrics compared
- Outlier threshold (default 1.5 standard deviations)
- Pilot review period (default 6 weeks)
- Sites included
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- VP approves every pilot
Hard limits
- Never change site procedures itself
- Never rank people, only sites
It stops when
- Done: pilots reviewed and decided
- Stop: site data not comparable
