AI agent for medical writers

Nonfiction Claim Evidence Agent

A draft where every factual claim is backed by a source passage at the right strength.

Nonfiction Claim Evidence Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

As a nonfiction draft is revised, claims drift away from the sources that support them, and a careful statement becomes a sweeping one. This agent runs on each revised draft. It matches every changed claim to an exact approved source passage and compares the strength of the claim with what the source actually says. Where a claim overstates the source, such as calling a correlation a cause, it narrows the wording in a review copy or finds another authorized source. It then rechecks the revised wording. Claims with no support become research tasks for the writer. The writer decides the final wording. Edge case: a source that has been retracted is removed from the citation map, and its claims become research tasks.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensDraft 4 changes 31 claims. The draft says 'social media causes anxiety in teens', but the cited study shows a correlation only. The check fails, so the review copy says 'is linked to'. Two claims have no source and become research tasks. The agent rechecks all revised wording, which now matches sources. The writer accepts 28 suggestions and rewrites 3 herself.
