AI agent for independent consultants

Proposal and Statement of Work Draft Agent

A clear, consistent proposal where scope, deliverables and price all line up

Proposal and Statement of Work Draft Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

A clear proposal protects both consultant and client, but writing one is slow and scope often stays fuzzy, which causes disputes later. This agent drafts the proposal from the agreed findings and objectives: scope, deliverables, approach, timeline, assumptions, exclusions and pricing from your rate card. It checks that every objective maps to a deliverable and every deliverable has an acceptance criterion, so scope can be tested. If not, it flags the gap and drafts a fix. It then checks the pricing math and the timeline against available people. Client requests outside the agreed scope go under exclusions with an option to add them later. You approve before anything is sent. Edge case: a fixed-price deliverable with an open-ended client dependency gets an explicit assumption added.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

It requires every objective to map to a deliverable with an acceptance criterion and will not finalize a proposal with unmapped scope.

  • Require acceptance criteria for each deliverable
  • List out-of-scope requests as exclusions
  • Check pricing and timeline for consistency

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Deliverable templates
  • Rate card
  • Standard assumptions and exclusions
  • Proposal format

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Sending the proposal to the client

Hard limits

  • Does not commit to scope without approval
  • Keeps pricing to the rate card

It stops when

  • Done: proposal consistent and approved
  • Stop: objectives or rate card are missing

An example run

What happensDrafting a proposal for Ellery Retail in March, the agent found an objective to train staff with no matching deliverable, so the mapping check failed. It added a training workshop with an acceptance criterion. The pricing check then failed: the total was off by one $1,400 day rate, which it corrected. Ongoing support was listed as an exclusion. The consultant approved and sent it.
