AI agent for automotive engineers
Safety and Compliance Test Plan Agent
A test and certification plan that fits the launch date and is booked and tracked until all results pass
What it does
Required tests and certifications are often discovered late, which delays the launch. This agent identifies the product type and the target markets, then lists the standards, labels and registrations each market requires. It builds a test plan with lab names, quotes and lead times, and works backward from the launch date to find the latest booking date. It tracks the results as they arrive. When a test fails, it traces the cause back to the design, such as a material or a battery spec, proposes a change and plans a retest. It then rechecks the schedule against the launch date. The lead approves lab bookings and spending. Edge case: a standard that changed recently is checked for a transition date before the lab is booked.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Design frozen for pre-production
- Identify the product type and target markets
- List required standards, labels and registrations per market
- Build the test plan with quotes and lead times
- Does the schedule with a retest buffer end before launch? If not: move tests earlier, add labs or flag the launch date. Back to step 3.
- Lead approves lab bookings and spendingThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Track test results as they arrive
- Did every test pass?If not: trace the failure to the design, propose a change and plan a retest. Back to step 4.
- Recheck the schedule against the launch date
- Certification status report
How it decides
A standard applies when the product type and market match its scope. A booking is on time when the lab's lead time plus a retest buffer ends before the launch date.
- Include a retest buffer of 3 weeks
- Check the transition dates for newly updated standards
- Prefer labs with accreditation for the target market
- Never skip a standard because it looks costly
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Target markets
- Retest buffer (default 3 weeks)
- Labs to consider
- Budget limit per test
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Booking a lab
- Spending on tests
Hard limits
- Never states a standard it cannot source
- Never books a lab itself
It stops when
- Done: all required tests passed or the lead decided on risks
- Stop: the product type or market is unclear
