Keyblind MCP server

by aarifmms

Keep your passwords and API keys in an encrypted vault so your AI can use them without ever seeing them.

Keyblind is a small program that keeps your secret codes, like passwords and API keys, locked in an encrypted vault on your own computer. Your AI assistant can ask Keyblind to use a secret for you, but the actual value never shows up in the chat. It is handy for anyone who uses AI coding tools and worries about accidentally pasting a password or key into the conversation.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another app. Here, the helper is Keyblind, and it connects your AI to an encrypted vault of your secrets. When you ask your AI to use one of your keys, the AI asks Keyblind, Keyblind fetches the value quietly, and the value never appears in your conversation.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "use my OPENAI_API_KEY". The AI passes that request to the Keyblind helper running on your computer. Keyblind looks up the secret in its encrypted vault, uses it where it is needed, and hands back only the result. The actual secret value stays hidden from the chat transcript. You can also store new secrets, list their names, or delete them, all through the AI.

What you can do with it

  • Store a new secret in the encrypted vault
  • List the names of your stored secrets without showing values
  • Use a secret at runtime without it appearing in the chat
  • Replace the values in your .env file with harmless fakes so AI tools cannot read the real ones
  • Restore the real values in your .env file when you are done
  • Generate a two-factor authentication code from a stored setup
  • Create an encrypted, expiring link to share a secret with someone

Try asking your AI

  • “List my keyblind secrets”
  • “Store this as my new STRIPE_KEY”
  • “Use my OPENAI_API_KEY to run this script”
  • “Sandbox my .env file so AI tools see fake values”

What it gives back to you

You get back short answers in the chat, like a list of secret names, a confirmation that a secret was stored or deleted, or the result of a command that used the secret. The secret values themselves are never shown to you or the AI. If you ask for an audit trail, you get a list of when secrets were used.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs Keyblind)
  • A terminal or command prompt where you can type commands
  • An AI tool that supports MCP, like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot

Good to know

This tool can store, change, and delete your secrets, so be careful who you let use it and keep a backup of anything important.

Install it with your AI

Add Keyblind MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Keyblind MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
