Bangermap YouTube Outlier server
by AdesiaHQ
Your AI can rank a YouTube channel's videos against its own normal views and spot the ones that overperformed.

This is a small helper that lets your AI study YouTube channels for you. It looks at a channel's recent uploads and works out which videos did much better than that channel usually does. It is handy if you research content ideas, follow creators, or want to understand what is working in a niche.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to YouTube's public data, so it can look up channels and videos for you when you ask. You install it once, and after that you just talk to your AI like normal.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about a YouTube channel, like which videos did unusually well. Your AI passes that request to this helper program running on your own computer. The helper talks to YouTube's public data service using a free key you provide, and does some math to compare each video against the channel's normal view count. Then it hands the results back to your AI, which explains them to you in the chat. Nothing goes through a company server in the middle; the requests go from your machine to Google.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Rank a channel's recent uploads by how much they beat its normal views
- Check whether one specific video is an outlier for its channel
- Find out what a normal view count looks like for a channel
- Compare several channels to see who is having a better month
- Discover channels similar to one you already follow and see what is working there
- Keep Shorts and long videos measured separately so the numbers stay fair
Try asking your AI
- “Which of MrBeast's recent uploads overperformed?”
- “Is this video an outlier? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...”
- “What is a normal view count for @veritasium?”
- “Compare @mkbhd and @mrwhosetheboss, who is having the better month?”
- “Find channels like @mkbhd and show me what is working across them right now.”
What it gives back to you
You get back a ranked list of videos, each with its view count and how many times it beat the channel's normal views. You also get plain facts like subscriber count, recent upload count, and what a typical view count looks like for that channel. Your AI turns all of this into a short written answer in the chat, so you do not read raw numbers unless you want to. It does not change anything on YouTube; it only reads public data.
Before you start
What you need
- A free YouTube Data API key from the Google Cloud console (a kind of password for apps; Google gives you one for free, no billing details needed)
- Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs this helper)
- An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop or Claude Code
Good to know
It only reads public YouTube data, but it uses your own free API key, which has a daily limit of 10,000 units, so heavy use can run out until the next day.
